About Detail Editing
Melbourne-based freelance editor Nick Tapp has more than 25 years of experience in magazine, book and digital publishing. He has worked in educational publishing (at Pearson Australia), travel publishing (at Lonely Planet) and with outdoor adventure magazine publisher Wild Publications. In December 2013, Nick left Pearson Australia after more than 10 years there as an in-house editor and senior editor, and established Detail Editing.
Here’s some of what authors and publishing professionals say about Nick and his work.
“I am certain that, in over twenty years of writing atlases, geography texts and skills resources for secondary school students, Nick has been by far the best and most accomplished editor with whom I have worked. I am sure that the success of these publications has been in large part due to my good fortune in working collaboratively with Nick as editor.”

“When I started a new career as a publisher and was working on a very big History project I had the good fortune to work with a great editor in Nick Tapp. Nick’s vigilance, eye for detail and comprehensive knowledge meant that he was able to help me with clever solutions to all sorts of problems. I learnt a lot from him in my ‘green’ years as a publisher.”
